Mount Hutt (Mordor)

Back to normal life these days down under. Adam is leaving to go to the airport in about 30 minutes, I have class at 12, and I'm assuming that most of my friends will be going to the ranch as it is Wednesday here. However, I just cant help the fact that my mind is on New Zealand. Sitting in my room I keep staring at the Maori flag I put up last night so I will never forget the most incredible time of my life. The thing about Mt. Hutt or New Zealand in general is that it is VERY mountainous. Everywhere you look you see mountains... literally everywhere. The alps run across the entire south island so its pretty hard to miss them. When we were driving up the mountain I was fairly certain that there was a 50/50 chance that I was going to fall off the edge of the road down a 500m gulley (Yes ive made the conversion to the metric system, like a boss i might add. I did it so well you didnt even notice huh?) Even when we got there, they made it very clear that if you go out of bounds you are likely to end up like the other 4 people who died there this season. But adam and I played it safe, we tended to stay on the groomed runs and only hit the terrain park a handful of times. I dont know. There is something about snowboarding in August that really brings out the inner Ghandi in everyone because no matter what we did we had an awesome, peaceful, incredible time. With that said, there are still those bastards who cut you off and dont apologize but then you just shout off "No worries, mate." And theres no harm done. New Zealand 2010- You will always have my heart and soul.

P.S. Home is where the heart is.
