Finals... AKA checking your facebook every 15 seconds.

Red Bull Flugtag, Sydney. Holla!

The sun is out shining, the trees are swaying in the breeze, and I'm sitting inside wishing I could enjoy the day... Bummer. But its finals time here at Macquarie University and some people have already left (Shout out to Lucas in Italia, do work brother) and others are gearing up to leave. Whats really a trip is how fast this thing came to a close... I have 2 finals left and then a week to cruise; then Herzi, New York, and I are going to Fiji to meet up with Bri guy and Philthy. Should be solid with a chance of epic...

This has really been an amazing trip so far; where in the world could I say I pet a kangaroo, snowboarded in August, and see the purest sand in the world? Australia thats where... (NZ can come too) Haha to be honest, it seems like a blur now though... All those Fridays at Ivy and Saturdays at Argyle have kinda blurred into one tremendous experience. I wish there was more time to see all the places on the map that ive spent time staring at, wishing I was there, but now thats just incentive to make some paper and come back. You feel me? But until then, heres my boys in the bay doing work on a new project. Holla at ya boy Zumbi!

The City of Oak, Smoke, and Broke

Vietnam, 1966. Oakland... Home

Most people have heard of the iddy biddy city by the water before. But most people have only heard horror stories of gang violence and murders. This is true, no doubt, that the violence that inhibits the city of Oakland has hindered its growth tremendously. But the troubles that this city has gone through has given it a soul, something only a few other cities can claim. Yes, its true that some say Oakland is the home of Funk, and I whole heartedly agree with that statement. Because throughout our history we have had some of the funkiest, crazy, clever characters this country has ever seen.

Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks, and Bruce Lee all have been residents of our city at some point. Sports legends like Rickey Henderson, Leon Powe, and Marshawn Lynch have all gone through our gates. Even the first Medicinal Marijuana dispensary was founded in Oakland. Its people like these that make me proud to be from Oakland. And I'm not the only one, every street you walk down you'll see A's, Raiders, Warriors, and Oaklandish gear proudly rocked, and we rock it well too. Its a different style in the Bay, there is something in the air that makes us all feel a little different. Its made the Arts scene is incredible too. Rappers, rockers, and even hippies all grace their presence in the history of our incredible city.

The reason why most people are proud to be from Oakland, is what I like to call the underdog effect. It feels good when we see it happen and we all like a good story, so why not help support Oakland? A great friend of mine has been telling me the same quote for as long as ive known him, "Its not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog." And we always give this guy so much shit for saying the lamest cliche ever, but you know what. People like cliches, we like to see Rocky beat Apollo. We like to see Will Smith kill aliens, and we sure as shit like seeing the Giants win the World Series. And it doesnt matter to us, because in Oakland, seeing love is hard sometimes and the more you see it the better it feels.

P.s. Best dancers in the world too... I would know.

Summer in Sydney? More like Rain. With a Chance of Rain.

Man oh man... Back to Ivy again last night, and boy was it smackin. Not only was it our friend Laura's 21st but we also got to enjoy the pouring rain! Now you may think I'm referring to the rain as a total bummer.. but it DEFINITELY wasn't. While me and a few female acquaintances were tearin up the dance floor, it then proceeded to rain Monsoon style all over the entire dance floor. But after the initial shock of getting completely soaked, it turns out that dancing in the rain is pretty fuckin fun. Me, these girls, and the rest of the die hard cruisers were the epitome of "Murkin' a Dance Floor" and we stayed there till the wee hours of the night. What can I say about my favorite place in Sydney? I guess even in the worst conditions you can still be the king of the floor...

CHAMPange shower!

Damn its been a while... The fall classic is over, and our beloved San Francisco Giants are the current World Series Champions!! This comes as a bit of a surprise to some people, but when a city so adamantly supports a team I feel like its nothing short of destiny when a group of "Misfits" ends up winning the title. The Giants hadnt won a World Series since 1954, and they hadnt won a World Series in San Francisco ever. But the draught is over, finally, and the folks in the Bay can celebrate once again. Here on the Sydney front classes are coming to an end, I'm currently writing a final paper for one class, or at least trying to... People are going on trips, Keola and Sneaky are in Bali, Herzi just got back from Melbourne, and I will be leaving for Fiji in a month. Its such a shame to leave such a beautiful place so soon, and there are so many spots in australia that I still want to go to. Melbourne, Gold Coast, Great Ocean Road, and I haven't even touched the West side of Aus yet. Oh well, it just means i'll have to come back and journey some more! You feel me? But I do have an entire month to get into as many shenanigans as I can. Until then peace out, and much love to the Bay.

P.s. We need all the support we can get, so if youre in Oakland... GO TO THE RAIDERS GAME!! Lets beat those Queefs!

Commitment to Excellence

I have to give a SUPER special shoutout to the 2010 Oakland raiders. This year they finally completed the task of beating the San Diego Chargers, a feat that hasnt been accomplished since 2003. I know that one win isnt much to brag about, but in the past couple of years there hasnt been anything to brag about being a Raiders fan. So this one goes out to Raider Nation. Just win baby.

The Techie Beats hit Australia. HARD.

Now, being the connoisseur of music that I am, my most recent addition to the repertoire of musical depth has been techno. Id have to fashion it mostly to the house/funk genre but there is trance and other stuff mixed into my new taste as well. To be honest before I had heard techno songs that I actually liked, I HATED techno, and when i say i hated it I fucking hated it. I couldnt listen to a song for more than 15 seconds without bitching, but thanks to a good friend of mine, who will be referred to as Guysworth Montana, he showed me the light. When I think of techno now, i like to relate it to soccer. Easily the biggest music in the world, every club in Europe/Australia/South America will be playing house. But when you go to the states its fairly subdued. Sure you can find house clubs in big cities but the mass appeal to Americans just isnt there. With all that said, Id like to give you guys just a little slice of some of the solid techie beats that ive been slappin lately. And hopefully some of you will change your mind just like I did. Enjoy.

P.s. you might want to listen with headphones. Get that bass deep in your head.

This song right here got my ears adjusted to house. It has a super sick sample with a good build up, sure to tear up any dance floor. However, this is what i like to call mainstream house. Its made its way into pop-culture and now even my friends' little sisters will slap this with their friends on their way to O'Dowd. Here is a remix of We No Speak Americano that slaps wayyy harder than the original...

One of the first things you need to understand when talking about house or any music in general is: BE PATIENT. Most techno songs dont start slapping until about a minute or two in. All the time before that is what we call "the build-up" the dj knows you to want to hear the bass drop but a good dj will make you wait for it, he will add layer after layer until he feels its enough and then he will unleash a fury of bass and thump to shake the floorboards six stories below. Learn to love the build up, learn to love techno. Here is one song with one of the nastiest build ups of all time.

Finally, there is the indie remake. A lot of house DJs now take indie hits and turn them into club bangers. For example plenty of DJs have remixed Walkin on A Dream by Empire of the Sun or Kids by MGMT. This song is a direct shoutout to my roommate Herzi, he showed it to me and it has been on steady repeat for the past couple of months.

Now hopefully ill see all you house freaks at Stereosonic on Nov 27th in Sydney. Also, feel free to facebook me if you want some more. I literally have hundreds of songs that slap just as hard as these, if not harder. So hit ya boy up and get your techie fix on. Shooots!

Monsoon: Brisbane, Australia (Part 3)

Thanks to Sir Richard Branson and the lovely Virgin Blue crew, our flight back to Sydney was delayed forcing us to stay a night in downtown Brisbane, for FREE. Now most people would have taken the flight back home at 6am because they are tired and just want to rest in their own casa, but Herzi and I like the true adventurers we are took a flight back at 5pm allowing us to spend the entire day seeing the beautiful city of Brisbane. First off, I'd like to thank Brisbane for giving us i.n.c.r.e.d.i.b.l.e. eye candy while we were there. While we were having our morning beers at Pig N Whistle neither of us could stop saying, "Holy shit dude look at that chick! Shes gorgeous!" I mean there are plenty of beautiful women in Sydney but for real Brisbane seriously has it crackin right now... So we were in Brisbane for a day and we asked some people what we should do and most of them said hit up the lagoon right off the bank of the river. Oh that sounded like a grand ole time! Except for the fact that there was a downpour of about 100cm of rain during the exact time we were crossing the Brisbane Bridge to get over there. Hilarity did not ensue...

So instead of going to the lagoon we decided to go to the Modern Art Museum. This was definitely a cool alternative to the lagoon because we got to see the cultural side of the city/country that is Brisbane/Australia. So my advice to you current travelers is try and do as much as you can to get your flights delayed so you can get free hotels. My suggestion, the good ole bomb threat ought to do the trick.

P.S. I gotta give a shout out to my San Francisco Giants, for those who are tryin to hate. Yes, I am a die hard A's fan but that doesnt mean i dont love the bay. Give it up for the boys in the halloween orange and black so we can bring back the World Series Champs to the Bay. Barry, Max, and Jared this ones for you.

Waterfalls, Whitsundays, and Wankers (Part 2)

Now I know what you're thinking, but That Oakland Kid you couldn't have just stayed in Airlie Beach the entire time you were on spring break, right?? And by Josh you're right, we also went over to Cedar Creek Waterfall about 50 km down the road from our little spot. This waterfall was pretty sweet, i mean every year there are about 20 deaths from jumping off it and landing on rocks so i didnt really get that crazy but nonetheless i still had a settled ass time. Now during the time we were there I was a little hung choy, and so was Palu Girl aka she who shall not be named, but I still enjoyed the hell out of the place. We adventured through the rainforest and found our spot to chill out and relax. Honestly, relaxing and hanging by a waterfall is a better hang over cure than Einstein Bagels and Jamba Juice so I was feeling like a million bucks for the next day...

This morning we woke up at 7:30am to catch our bus to get on the Reef Jet boat that took us snorkeling, scuba diving, beach attending, and seeing the dopest views this side of the world. While we were on the boat we got to see some amazing scenery. All in all there are 74 islands in the Whitsundays and we pretty much got to see all of them. However, the creme de le creme of the spot had to be Whitehaven Beach. Now let me tell you a little something about Whitehaven. This beach has the purest sand in the world, it is approximately 98% silica making it so fine even your celibate priest will want to bang it. The sand is so perfect it was used to make the mirrors in the Hubble Telescope. Honestly, I cant say that ive been to a cooler beach in my life, and suffice it to say I probably will never see a better one either. So heres to you Whitehaven. Now the rest of my beach days will be just a shade shy of perfect because of you...

Gnairlie Beach (Part 1)

So I'm still on spring break right now, I have another week left of shenanigans to engage in. But i dont have any other trips planned, 1) because i dont have any more money (fuck...) and 2) My trip to Airlie Beach/Whitsunday was so incredible I dont even really need another trip. Sure it would be dope to check out so more cities on the East Coast of Oz but the borderline financial crisis that im in is kinda hindering my adventures. Having said that, I'm not trippin because while I was up North, I got to go to the beach with the purest sand in the world, Scuba Dive in the Great Barrier Reef again, get to know some real town folk, and i got to do it with some of the biggest cruisers I know. When we flew into Mackay Airport it was cloudy and raining, we prayed that it would not be like this during our spring break. And sure enough our prayers were answered, we got beautiful sunshine most of the time there with an occasional drizzle. Spring/Summer time up north is the rainy season, so if anyone is thinking about travelling there during that time just know youre gonna get a down pour and it will be more of a buzz kill than the girl who keeps drunkenly crying and breaking her heels... When we got to our rooms we were astonished to see that we had a villa 200m away from the beach. We had 2 queen beds, 2 twins, a fold out couch and a big ass TV. The Beach Court Holliday Villas hooked it up fat for us, they put up with 3am techie beats and a couple of "unregistered guests".

The town of Airlie Beach is pretty solid, its not that big but there is still a lot of nightlife. I mean we were only there for 5 days and we got to know plenty of people in town, every day we would see people that we met the night before, some people were super hung choy and some were chipper, the coolest part of the town has to either be the rockin club Mama Africa's or the dank lagoon with the infinity sand. We got to see the farmers market, where they offer camel rides along the beach and Herzi, Sonya, and I got to talk to this borderline skate legend who told us when he used to skate around with the Dogtown boys, Caballero, and Lasek. All in all Airlie Beach was a perfect spot for a group of 6 girls and 2 guys to rage the night away and enjoy the beautiful sights during the day.

All Blacks, Goon Rides, and a Cathedral

Once again in this beautiful place I call home, I had a wild weekend that included going to the Australia vs. New Zealand Tri-Nations Cup Title game, journeying to THE FUCKING BIGGEST IMAX IN THE WORLD (Yes caps are necessary), and visiting old friends in downtown Sydney. While us cruisers were at the game we found out why rugby is so damn popular here down under, there are 15 gigantic men running into each other at full speed sans pads trying to dive into the endzone with the little footy (football). All the while, there are 70,000 drunk fans screaming their heads off trying to influence the game as much as humanly possible. Even though we were in the nosebleeds, I still felt like my screaming paid off because the All Blacks won 23-22, in the best rugby match ive ever seen (Sorry Wallabees). What was also really cool about the game was it was at ANZ Stadium aka home of the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Being at an Olympic sized stadium is a trip and a half, there is such history there, such glory. When you think about all the great athletes who competed in the olympics it really grounded me; it made me want to experience the wide world of sport even more (Now if we can only get a W from the Raiders ill be able to rest easy...)

Next up on this journey of a lifetime, me and some of the boys went and saw Hubble 3D at the IMAX theatre in Darling Harbor. All I can really say about this is WOW, it felt like we were flying through space and for those of you who can see it somehow, i HIGHLY suggest it. Bonus: Leonardo DiCaprio narrates the entire film. Fuck yeah. Finally in this tour de force of a weekend, me and my roommate Herzi went downtown to the city friday afternoon and strolled through town. We got some beers at a nice pub during happy hour on friday, went to the top of the Sky Tower in the heart of the city, and finished the day off with a tour of St. Marys Cathedral in St. James. Hands down most beautiful cathedral ive ever been in my life. The architecture and stain glass windows alone were gorgeous enough to make you want to stay all day. The weekend is over and we are back to the grind here at Macquarie University, however spring break starts on Friday with Conception Day. A gigantic concert/party/festival for all the students here in honor of the creation of this great university. After that i'm off to Whitsunday for some sailing and more adventure.

P.s. This video is so sick it made me want to tear out my eyes. Wait... What?

Bi-Monthly Movie Round UP: Top Five Quoters

So this past few weeks have been crazy, a lot of school work was accomplished... Whoaaa. I know i know but when the work is finished the party can begin. A few assignments, a test, and an essay later I had an intense weekend to say this least. Me and a few friends went to Chinese Laundry in Darling Harbor. There were 3 dance floors which made it a lot cooler than the name actually sounds, Chinese Laundry really? Having said that, this is a really cool underground house club. It is one of the top rated clubs in Sydney for a good reason. Cheap drinks, great atmosphere, sick DJs, and a lot of beautiful people will definitely get you on a few peoples "IT list for 20XX" (Insert year Here) anytime you want. Update aside, this post is dedicated to a conversation I had with a friend of mine Brian Poage. A few hours ago, we were talking and he quoted me the line "You old sailor you." Clearly from Wedding Crashers, for those who don't know, and it got me thinking. What are the most quoted movies OF ALL TIME? Now when I'm talking movie quotes I mean comedy. The art of movie quoting, which so many young american folks indulge in on a daily basis, revolves around comedy quotes. Sure, "I'll make him an offer he cant refuse" is an extremely memorable quote but it doesnt really get quoted on a daily basis. Comedy quotes bring out the best in cinema for folks like me, 20-male-college-semi immature-ready to party, and without the bevy of quotes in our daily life a few of the deep belly laughs that we need to get us through tough times might not be there. So without further adieu...

Number Five- "I'm not an ambi-turner." Zoolander

Zoolander, one of the first movies written and directed by Ben Stiller, as we all know the movie thrusts into the world of Male Modeling. And this isnt the modeling you see in magazines or on the E channel, there are walk offs and freak gasoline fight accidents. The most quotable line in the movie has got to be the "Excuse me brah." "Oh youre excused, but Im not your brah." exchange between Hansel and Derek before the infamous walk off scene. (Bonus trivia: Also one of the most hilarious cameos by David Bowie as the walk-off judge. "Disqualified!!") But ill leave you with a subtle little quote from the mind and heart of Hansel. "I felt like, "This guy's really hurting me." And it hurt."

Number Four- "Hey, that kangaroo just took my ball!" Caddyshack

Now I come from a family of golfers, ever since I was a little grom my whole family has been down to play a little Chabot if you know what I mean. So naturally this movie has been watched countless times in my house, if im not mistaken there is a DVD we have is in my dads car right now so we can watch it literally any time we want. Quotes from this movie are a dime a dozen, clearly this is classic cinema because every time I watch Caddyshack I laugh just as hard as I did the first time I saw it. Chevy Chase as Ty Webb-hilarious... Hes clever as a whip and not shy to dish out life lessons for all who will listen. "Don't be obsessed with your desires Danny. The Zen philosopher Basha once wrote, 'A flute with no holes, is not a flute. A donut with no hole, is a Danish.' He was a funny guy." Even when he is putting up a storm and just doing Mananananaana. Hmhmamamamama. It kills me. "That was Incredible!" "Thank you very little." But the best quote is indeed last, comes from one of greatest minds in comedy history. Mr. Rodney Dangerfield "You're a lot of woman, you know that? Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?"

Bonus Quote: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=3124534

Number Three- "Brian, I ate your Chocolate Covered Squirrel." Anchorman

"Why dont you go back to your home? On whore island??" "The bad man punted baxter!!" "And I'm Tits... I'm Ron Burgundy." The list goes on and on. I pretty sure even my teachers in high school knew these quotes, they had to. Listening to us quoting this movie every day for about two years must have ingrained it into their brain just like how we learned physics, or did I pass because Mr. Rooney thought I was awesome. The world will truely never know, nonetheless this movie had an incredible influence on my slanguage to the extent that my friends and I would talk like Ron just because we couldnt help it. We didnt need a quote to break out the impersonation, we had it deep in our souls... This specific quote is a shout out to my brotherrr Alex aka Romocop, this quote made him laugh for a good 10 min when we were cruising one time... "Not so fast, you ingrates. Public News Team is taking a break from its pledge drive to kick some ass. No commercials, no mercy!!

Number Two- "You sand-bagging son of a bitch!" Wedding Crashers

We know the rules. We've wanted to be those men. Wedding Crashers is as close to a modern day classic as it gets. Sheer genius concept, two guys crash wedding receptions and get wild. So simple yet so effective. Honestly who amongst yourselves hasnt quoted this movie. Its so deep ingrained into our pop culture quotes like "Stage Five Clinger" or "Motorboat" have all made it into our vernacular. What probably gives it its biggest credibilty is we feel for these characters, we act like we know them personally. It puts the movie in a class above the rest, I honestly can't say enough about this movie so I will just give you my favorite quote from the movie. "[sigh] Janice, I apologize to you if I don't seem real eager to jump into a forced awkward intimate situation that people like to call dating. I don't like the feeling. You're sitting there, you're wondering do I have food on my face, am I eating, am I talking too much, are they talking enough, am I interested I'm not really interested, should I play like I'm interested but I'm not that interested but I think she might be interested but do I want to be interested but now she's not interested? So all of the sudden I'm getting, I'm starting to get interested... And when am I supposed to kiss her? Do I have to wait for the door cause then it's awkward, it's like well goodnight. Do you do like that ass-out hug? Where you like, you hug each other like this and your ass sticks out cause you're trying not to get too close or do you just go right in and kiss them on the lips or don't kiss them at all? It's very difficult trying to read the situation. And all the while you're just really wondering are we gonna get hopped up enough to make some bad decisions? Perhaps play a little game called "just the tip". Just for a second, just to see how it feels. Or, ouch, ouch you're on my hair."

Honorable Mentions: Superbad, Step-Brothers, Austin Powers (1, 2, & 3), Tommy Boy, Waynes World, Ghostbusters, Supertroopers, Beerfest, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Number One- "Big gulps ey? Welp. See ya later!" Dumb and Dumber

This piece of cinema folklore, written and directed by the Farrelly Brothers, has been my favorite movie my entire life. Right when I began conciousness, circa 1994, this movie came out and since then it has been the most uttered movie that has ever come out of my mouth. "Chicks love it. Its a shaggin wagon." "There are absolutely no jobs in this town. Zip. Nada. Yeah... Unless you want to work 40 hours a week." "Want to hear the most annoying sound in the world??" Literally every day that passes there is a Dumb and Dumber quote mixed in somewhere. As you can tell this is my favorite movie, now I will tell you why. Of all great comedies that are released, this is one of the FEW movies that never uses the word Fuck. There is a lot of credit to be given if a movie can be so funny, so laugh out loud hilarious, and they dont even use the F-word. Congratulations Harry and Lloyd. You are the two most quoted men in the world. To me at least.

Crescent Shred

Crescent Head, Australia NSW. This little (and when i say little i literally mean 10 houses and a Beach) town is what some would say a secret surf spot, thanks for the heads up Rocket Power. When I and the rest of my Australearn crew were there, we got into a lot of shenanigans and a little bit of surfing. Wait. I think its the other way around. Oh well, but while we were there we got some serious surf instruction, that included all the instructors hitting on the girls while they were in the water and us boys cruising around by ourselves haha. The waves there were cool, not too big but perfect for beginners. Ya boy was shredding the gnar faster than a aussie shredding on some vegemite, so as you can figure out now, im pretty fuckin good. Just Kidding folks, I definitely need some more work but the bug has struck. Im going surfing later this week in Sydney, and hopefully get a chance to make it up to Byron Bay later this semester for some serious Gold Coast surf action. They say now is when most people get the most home sick, but I already found my home here... So im not that home sick, just sick... too sick. So this is a shout out to my homies back in the Bay, Europa, South America, and Asia. Yadida? We made it all over the world boys and girls.

Mount Hutt (Mordor)

Back to normal life these days down under. Adam is leaving to go to the airport in about 30 minutes, I have class at 12, and I'm assuming that most of my friends will be going to the ranch as it is Wednesday here. However, I just cant help the fact that my mind is on New Zealand. Sitting in my room I keep staring at the Maori flag I put up last night so I will never forget the most incredible time of my life. The thing about Mt. Hutt or New Zealand in general is that it is VERY mountainous. Everywhere you look you see mountains... literally everywhere. The alps run across the entire south island so its pretty hard to miss them. When we were driving up the mountain I was fairly certain that there was a 50/50 chance that I was going to fall off the edge of the road down a 500m gulley (Yes ive made the conversion to the metric system, like a boss i might add. I did it so well you didnt even notice huh?) Even when we got there, they made it very clear that if you go out of bounds you are likely to end up like the other 4 people who died there this season. But adam and I played it safe, we tended to stay on the groomed runs and only hit the terrain park a handful of times. I dont know. There is something about snowboarding in August that really brings out the inner Ghandi in everyone because no matter what we did we had an awesome, peaceful, incredible time. With that said, there are still those bastards who cut you off and dont apologize but then you just shout off "No worries, mate." And theres no harm done. New Zealand 2010- You will always have my heart and soul.

P.S. Home is where the heart is.

MosesTemple

As the weekend wound down I found myself and my P.I.C. for life Adam in Christchurch, New Zealand. If there were a couple of things you need to know about New Zealand they would be: 1. New Zealand (aka the most peaceful country in the world) is without a doubt the most beautiful country ive ever been to. Even during the flight over here my jaw dropped because there are so many beautiful sights to be seen here. Mountains, valleys, rivers, and sheep. Glorious, glorious sheep. 2. They love to be Xtreme. Their national pastime is bungy jumping (oh those krazy kiwis), there is some of the best snowboarding in the world (More on this later), and everywhere you look there is either a snowshop or some little grom walking around with a skate and a badass attitude. 3. Everyone is super nice. And how could you not be? You're living in fucking New Zealand. 4. Lord of the Rings, probably one of my favorite trilogies ever (Sorry I know what you did last summer) was filmed here. And being the film nut that I am, I'm going to come back here to go on a tour of every scene that I can because New Zealand reps LOTR so damn hard. Our adventure all culmiated with snowboarding at Mt. Hutt. I'm too tired and sore to write about it right now, so I'll leave you squabbers with a sick snowboard movie from NZ.

Legends Never Die

I'd like to start off by giving props to the city of Sydney for giving me the best weekend of my life. Friday was at the Ivy (aka sickest spot in Australia) which is in Circular Quay by the Opera House. This place is incredible. There are 6 floors at this place, we were on the 4th floor where the pool and lounge are. Even in the bathrooms there are showers... How dope is that?? I guess if you feel a little grimey you can clean off and get ready to party like a CEO. The even cooler part was when we were there my friends bought a bottle of Belvedere (two actually) since my boy had his brother and his friend here visiting. And when you buy a bottle you get a cabana next to the pool. fo free. (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dJu1Jj7VTw) So we were cruisin on tonic and belvi for a while until me, Keola, and the Sneakster had a rap battle for about an hour in the middle of the pool area. You know we got stupid bars, we call it Special Jail. Going too dumb in the ocean, we got full sails. The funny thing is my homie for life Adam is coming tomorrow. Sooo... We are gonna do the exact same thing this friday for the sneakster's birthday. HOLLA. I know this may seem pretty extravagant, but its all in the experience right? Thats why me and my boy Adam are bout to go to Mt. Hutt in New Zealand for that gooey gnar gnar. Apparently it snowed 3 feet this weekend so we'll be shredding the sickest pow in Oceania. From the mind of the great bambino, "Heroes get remembered. But Legends never Die." So i'm gonna have to take that advice and get back to you after i get home from New Zealand. p.s. Fuck Sauron, I wish i could snowboard down mt. doom

Marlin, Tuna, or Catfish?

So as August finally rolls around here down under, we finally started classes. Well most people started classes today, I on the other hand don't have class on Mon... Or friday for that matter. Which honestly leaves me with more time for shenanigans than actual school work (Just kidding mom!) But seriously now is a great time to meet new people, new friends, and new sheilas. Speaking of which, I prefer to meet them the old fashioned way, as opposed to this dude... Check out this gnarly new trailer.

Booze Cruise and a Surftastic Voyage

I'm guessing that most people my age have ridden on a Party Bus before. Whether it was for prom with all your mates or you just feel like a beast and order one for when you roll out (usually my wednesday nights). Most of them look like this ^^^^ Some maybe a little bit cooler, but Im guessing most of you guys haven't gone on a party YACHT before... And top it all off we were cruising through the Sydney Harbor where I saw probably the coolest skyline I have ever seen in my life. The coolest sight we saw had to be the Sydney Opera House all lit up like a Menorah during Hanukkah. Yeah pretty fuckin sweet I know.

The next day after the booze cruise of a life time, me and the boys went surfing at Manly Beach. And no its not as gay as it sounds. Since my homie Davey bought a car (like a champ i might add) we get to cruise all over Oz and hit the gnarliest surf spots this side of Pipeline. However, the only problem I have to worry is trying to figure out how to fucking Surf. Oh well thats what 5 months is for right?

Here is my Hawaiian homie's favorite surfer. Holla at a playa Sneaky Siemann.

Cairns, Australia and Beyond

Wow... One week ago I found myself getting off a plane and traveling some of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. For those who don't know Australia Cairns is on the North Coast in Queensland right on the ocean. Cairns is mostly a tourist town because of all the great activities it has to offer. The first real excursion we had was at RainForeStation, a reserve park that houses Kangaroos, Koalas, and humungous fucking crocodiles. So after we got to play with the kangaroos and take a picture with a koala we met some real Aborigines who taught me and the rest of the crew how to play the Digeridoo. After all that practice I can fucking wail on that thing. So after all that we decided to celebrate in proper fashion... by going to "The Ultimate Party". I can't explain to you how ultimate and awesome this party really was. Going to 5 different night clubs and bars in one of the most beautiful cities on the planet in a double-decker bus will definitely blow the pants off anyone, let alone 200 crazed students. The funny thing is that we had so much fun that night we didnt even go out 2 nights after that (The real champs did but I tend to stick to sanity rather than expensive drinks and horny french guys). Having said that... the best moment of the week and possibly my life thus far was Scuba Diving in the great barrier reef. The reef is 40 miles off the coast of Cairns so it took about an hour and a half to get there but it was the most incredible breathtaking peaceful experience of my life. The fact that its the largest living organism in the world is just too ridiculous to handle. If anyone ever has the chance to do it I highly suggest it. Here's to Cairns.

Last Night In America

So I thought to myself, what do I want for my last night in the most amazing country in the world? I made this decision a long time ago. Going to the most amazing city in the world. San Francisco. As Dave Chapelle would put it theyre having a sale on Birkenstocks so I definitely couldnt pass that up. Haha if only that were true... No, instead I'm having a barbeque dinner with my family and a beautiful time in the City with hopefully 30 of my closest friends. Drinks and B-rips will sure enough ensue and I will be off on a plane to Australia tomorrow. Heres a slice of the Sucker Free city.
